When entering escalators:
  • Watch the direction of the moving step.
  • Step on and off with extra care. Take care if you are wearing bifocals.
  • Hold children or small packages firmly in one hand.
  • Grasp the handrail as you step promptly onto the moving step.
  • Keep loose clothing clear of steps and sides.

  •  When riding escalator
  • Keep to the right and face forward.
  • Keep a firm grip on the handrail.
  • Reposition your hand slowly if the handrail moves ahead or behind the steps.
  • Do not rest your handbag or parcels on the handrail.
  • Do not window-shop while riding.
  • Keep calm.
  • Do not lean against the handrail.

  •  When exiting escalators:
  • Do not hesitate.
  • Step off promptly.
  • Immediately move clear of the escalator exit area - don't stop to talk or look around.
         Other passengers may be behind you.


  • General Rules:
  • Do not allow water to run into the hoistway during cleaning.
  • Do not use the escalator in case of earthquake, fire or water flood caused by heavy rain.
  • Do not put your fingers or any foreign object into the clearance or gaps of the glass panels.
  • Do not allow children to play on the escalator.
